alexander_and_stuI know you will like this a lot. I managed to grab an interview with Alexander while he was leading a retreat at the wonderful Purple Valley Yoga Center in Goa, India. We talk about the how the asana practice fits into yoga, the importance of finding stillness in the postures, his own experiences starting out as well as one of his most recent projects ‘Back in the Ring‘.I have put a trailer at the bottom of the page, take a look.
Alexander Medin is a native of Oslo, Norway where he grew up pursuing many different talents. He became Norwegian Champion in boxing at 18, but then gave it up for a career as a ballet dancer. He was first introduced to Ashtanga Yoga in 1995 and it’s been part of his daily practice since. After many visits to Mysore, he was granted a Certification to teach Ashtanga Yoga by Pattabhi Jois in 2002. In 2004, he completed his post-graduate degree in Sanskrit and Indian Religions and has since taught Yoga in many places around the world.
I have broken the interview into three parts as usual for easy downloading and also this time as a full file. Of course you can also listen to them now by clicking the play buttons.
