How to Transition out of Warrior II ?

04 March 2015: Interviewee: Laruga Glaser

warrior-transitionThe transition out of Warrior II is another of those things that looks so easy when you get it right but can lead to a lot of fumbling and awkwardness if you feel you can’t free up your front leg. I have spoken to loads of people who struggle with this, so call in Laruga Glaser to the rescue. I have been trying out these tips since we did this clip and it really makes so much difference. I can’t say I have the grace of Laruga yet but at least it is a lot smoother. Have fun and give it a go.

Currently Laruga heads the Mysore program at Yogayama in Stockholm, Sweden and teaches workshops and retreats internationally. I caught up with her recently in India and we filmed 3 shorties (this is one of them, Transition out of Utkatasana is another) and a great interview (here), which includes a superb demo and explanation of the key features of the jumping through to seated and jumping back. If you would like to find out how to practice with her take a look at her website http://larugayoga.com.
