Magdalena Mecweld, What are your favorite Yin postures if you are short on time?
Magdalena Mecweld is a yogini as well the bestseller author of the Swedish book “Vila dig I form med Yinyoga” (and the app with the same name). People had been saying to me for a while “you must meet Magdalena” and then recently by chance we were both practicing with the wonderful Ashtanga teacher Petri Räisänen. We got to talking about balancing Ashtanga with a softer yin style practice and I couldn’t miss the opportunity to find out what her favorite postures are.The book and app is now out in English under the title: ”Serenity Yin yoga – Rest Yourself into a calm mind & healthy body” (LUX).
Magdalena has a relaxed and non-sectarian approach to both yoga and meditation. Apart from Yin Yoga her personal practice is Ashtanga Yoga and Vipassana meditation.Since many years it is Yin Yoga that has been her main teaching style and she is among the first ones teaching it in Scandinavia. Magdalena’s ability to weave together physical yoga-practice and meditation in a simple yet profound way makes her classes emotionally and physically rewarding. She is known for her easy and humorous teaching style.
