The Root

Tim’s Scribbles: 01 December 2013 : The Root

two blokes

“That (Brahman) which is the root of all existence
and on which the restraint of the mind is based
is called the restraining root (Mulabandha)
which should always be adopted
since it is fit for Raja-yogins.”
– Sri Shankaracharya
Defining the root as a concrete, tangible action in the musculature of my pelvic basin at every single exhale while in motion on my mat, opens my body and mind to the seed of a deeper, grander ability which perhaps could be labeled Joy. And while the effect of this action rolls on up through layers of Self, in there under my skin, a shape and feeling takes presence which I struggle to describe. perhaps The Poetic Mechanics of Creation .. and creation and creation and creation… somewhat comes close. – TF
