Transitioning into and out of Bhujapidasana and Supta Kurmasana
David Robson and Jelena Vesic are just the best teachers to work with when it comes to any of the dynamic movements in Ashtanga Yoga. In this workshop video David and I use Jelena’s amazing talent to demonstrate what you are aiming for as well as breaking down the movements into manageable pieces. I must admit even the singular action of a lower trajectory jump demonstrated in the video makes such a difference. Watch, digest and have a go 🙂
Transitions from Warrior Postures
Another fun video with David Robson. This time we look at the transitions out of the warrior sequence postures Utkatasana and Virabhadrasana in the Ashtanga Primary Series. Of course we make be happy just to survive the standing postures, but once it starts to get easier it can present a nice challenge to work on more demanding entries and exits. Also a big thank you to my stunt double Jelena Vesić.
How to Transition out of Warrior II ?
The transition out of Warrior II is another of those things that looks so easy when you get it right but can lead to a lot of fumbling and awkwardness if you feel you can’t free up your front leg. I have spoken to loads of people who struggle with this, so call in Laruga Glaser to the rescue. I have been trying out these tips since we did this clip and it really makes so much difference. I can’t say I have the grace of Laruga yet but at least it is a lot smoother. Have fun and give it a go.
